
吉高の大桜は地元の名家、須藤家(屋号 文左衛門)の所有地で現在も成長し続けている樹齢300年以上のヤマザクラです。
樹木の形状は、株立状の独立木で、根回り周囲6.65m、樹高11.7m、枝張最大幅27mあります。花期は4月初旬から中旬で、ソメイヨシノよりは遅れます。
根元周囲は、須藤家の祭祀場(氏神)として周辺より1mほど小高く塚状に盛土されており良好な環境条件に恵まれて樹勢を拡大してきました。
The participants of ECO INBA will enjoy wonderful nature of the region, especially Lake Inba and Satoyama. Among them, the greatest highlight will be the Great Sakura of Yoshitaka.
The Great Sakura of Yoshitaka is a cherry tree which is still growing up for more than 300 years in a private property of Sudo family aka Monzaemon, a prominent family of the region.
The shape of this independent tree is height above base: 11.7m, circumference at ground: 6.65m, maximum crown spread: 27m. Its flowering season is between early April and mid April, later than Yoshino cherry tree.
Around the base of the Great Sakura of Yoshitaka is filled with good soil to elevate for 1 m above the surroundings as the Sudo family’s worship site or patron god had been providing a perfect ecological environment for the tree to grow up healthy and graciously.
